I'd like you to meet Grace.  I had the honor of photographing Grace and her husband a few years ago for an anniversary session.  Her daughter contacted me when I was asking for models for my passion project, "The NEW Senior Portraits: Legacy Images for the Young at Heart!".  Grace's daughter loved the idea, and wanted to create a story portrait for her mother.

One thing I love about this project... I get to hear the stories of my clients.  Grace grew up in the Netherlands.  When she was newly married at 20 years old her and her husband set sail for a new life in Canada.  They left all their family behind to start a new chapter in their lives.  Grace wanted to show that as part of her story.  She brought along some Blue Delft and wooden shoes, as well as a few other Dutch memorabilia she had collected over the years.  We had a great time talking about those days, and Grace's eyes lit up with a few stories. It was custom in her day for parents to buy their children a pewter tea set for a wedding gift.  She not only had her set that was given to her for her wedding, but also one she inherited from her Grandparents.  They were beautiful!

Grace came from a strong Christian upbringing, and has always trusted in the Lord to guide her.  We also incorporated her faith into her story portraits.  I believe this was the most important story Grace wanted to tell.  I asked her what her favorite Bible verse was, and I know she told me without hesitation.  I should have written it down because I can't remember!  But, I hope her daughter was listening!

The last story of Grace's was a story of helping children.  Grace loves to knit.  She knits dolls and donates them for children in need.  They go to area hospitals along with police and fire stations for children who are in a crises situation.

Thank you, Grace for coming in to be part of my passion project.
